Introduction
Hospital Metropolitano, one of Costa Rica's leading private hospital networks, had administrative, clinical, and operational processes built around internally developed systems. Any modernization project had to respect the continuity of those workflows. The implementation of Eden Diagnostic OS served as a medical imaging technology layer integrated with the existing infrastructure, making it possible to modernize the radiology operation without forcing the hospital to modify its core systems. Today, Hospital Metropolitano processes approximately 12,000 studies per month on the platform.

Like many healthcare organizations with years of technological evolution, Hospital Metropolitano had developed internal systems and processes that supported critical business activities. The organization faced key challenges:

More than a PACS implementation, the project represented an interoperability exercise at scale, demonstrating that technological innovation in healthcare can be built while respecting the processes that already generate value within an organization.
